Beschreibung	Thema The course aims to focus on women artists from the past to the present in order to focus on their depiction of themes and topics that can be included in the «English meets Art» classroom, be those linguistic, literary, societal or environmental. Whether you are exploring «English through Art» for the first time or returning to broaden your field of possibilities, the course should provide new and valuable input. Inhalte und Ziele The course aims to show how in general: Art can be used to encourage multi-level language acquisition English through art can confront global, societal and identity issues Art through English can foster cultural and identity empathy The course will address the following: Linguistic acquisition with generic examples and activities An introduction to VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) Compare issues of gender and tolerance, inclusion and exclusion as portrayed through artworks of different origins Societal and cultural relativity highlighted and expressed through/with art Literary works created by women about women artists Student digital art creation/«manipulation» to express personal emotional reactions Critical thinking skills Methoden Presentation Discussion and pair/group work Practical creation of activities Digital application encouraged
